Social Impact Assessments

We have gained many years of experience supporting a range of international studies focusing on “social” impact issues and stakeholder consultations.

Our specialists have worked across a broad range of sectors including a number of major oil and gas projects.

Most Social Impact Assessments (SIAs)/consultation programmes are implemented as a component of integrated ESHIA Reports and comply with the requirements of major financing agencies such as the World Bank/IFC. Recent work includes these major, high profile projects:

SIA Report for company wishing to consolidate and re-structure its country-wide operations, Kazakhstan; Offshore seismic survey and offshore drilling ESIAs, Tunisia; SIA component of Regional Environmental Assessment for E-60 highway upgrade project, Georgia; and Lenders’ Adviser on social aspects for biofuel project, Sierra Leone.

We have undertaken projects in a wide range of countries such as:

  • North Africa: Tunisia and Libya
  • Southern Africa: Mauritius
  • FSU/Central Asia: Russian Federation and Kazakhstan
  • Asia: India
  • Caucasus: Georgia
  • West Africa: Sierra Leone, Nigeria and Burkina Faso
  • Central/East Europe: Bulgaria, Latvia and Lithuania
