The need to dispose of waste effluent from industrial or other processes sometimes comes into conflict with the necessity to do so in a safe and environmentally acceptable manner. It can be difficult to achieve a disposal regime which is to the satisfaction of the consenting authorities as well as that of the wider public.
BMT Cordah can carry out effective and robust predictive modelling of the environmental fate of a range of discharge components, using both in-house and commercially available software. This can be combined with environmental, ecotoxicological and water quality assessments, including the calculation of PEC:NEC, consideration of implications for COD and BOD, as well as wider environmental considerations. We are also skilled at undertaking any further, site specific, interpretation and data collection, including ecological survey, to support assessment studies.
