BMT Cordah designed and facilitated a 3-day Sustainable Development (SD) workshop which was delivered to the village representatives 3 communities who are located close to a proposed onshore LNG plant within Rivers State, Nigeria.
BMT Cordah’s work included the review of the oil and gas companies latest version of their Sustainable Development plan, preparation of pre-course documentation and facilitation of the 3-day event which was held in Lagos.
The purpose of the workshop was to outline ways in which the principals of Sustainable Development can be used to deliver positive benefits to both the oil and gas company, and the affected villages at both an individual and community level. 02 – Group Workshops: Implementing the SD Plan covering the following topics:
- Influx management
- Loss of fishing rights
- Conservation projects
- Infrastructure improvements
04 – Summary and presentation of delegate certificates
Towards the end of the course, participants provided their feedback through written evaluation documents. Results of issues raised during the course were delivered to the client in the form of a technical report prepared by BMT Cordah.
