In order to minimise environmental impacts and business risks associated with any project it is important to identify and assess these risks at the earliest possible stage in project development. The evaluation of environmental impacts associated with a project should consider issues such as legislative pressure, personnel safety, company reputation, stakeholder requirements as well as the capital costs of preventative and / or remedial measures. Having identified and evaluated the risks it is also important to plan for environmental management for the duration of the project.
The identification, evaluation and management of environmental impacts is core to the skills, expertise and experience of BMT Cordah Ltd. Through the application of our team of environmental scientists, chemists, engineers and environmental management specialists BMT Cordah can undertake comprehensive studies of environmental risk for a wide variety of projects. As a result of this study an appropriate prevention and response mechanism can be developed, ensuring that environmental risks are designed-out as early as possible and controlled where they are unavoidable. The expertise of the BMT Cordah team is enhanced by our own software tools which have been specifically designed by in-house software specialists allowing a wide variety of situations and risks to be evaluated in parallel. The skills of BMT Cordah staff have been applied across a number of projects including environmental risk assessments for marine salvage operations, risk assessment of contaminated land, environmental assessment for oil and gas developments and oil spill contingency planning.
