As part of its long term strategy, the Board of British Maritime Technology has approved the creation of large, multi-disciplinary environmental consultancy and information systems company through the merger of three of its subsidiaries: BMT Cordah Ltd, BMT Marine Information Systems Ltd and BMT Maritime Consultants Sp. z o.o. in Poland. The enlarged company will be called BMT Cordah Limited and the merger will take effect from January 2003.

The Managing Director of the enlarged company will be Dr. Owen Harrop, currently the MD of BMT Marine Information Systems. Richard Hoare, who has lead the growth of BMT Cordah Limited for the last six years, is moving to Teddington to take up the appointment of Business Development Director for BMT Group.

The new company will offer a wide range of services and products in marine and terrestrial environments. In particular, it will offer clients greater benefits through the closer linking of the environmental information systems being developed in Southampton with the consultancy services offered in Aberdeen and Edinburgh, to together with the valuable intellectual capability in Gdansk.
