Principal Consultant Overseas O & G Development
BMT Cordah wishes to recruit a Principal Consultant to lead a team which has been set up to generate overseas business. Specifically, we wish to secure new international contracts and generate repeat business in our core areas of environmental consultancy, management systems, training, spill response and modelling. We are particularly interested in accessing markets in Easter Europe/FSU, West Africa and the Far East, in the oil and gas/energy sector, government institutions and publicly financed projects. Ideally you will have five to ten years' experience in a consultancy or commercial role, well developed overseas contacts, and proven experience in identifying, negotiating and winning overseas work. The post will be based in Southampton or Aberdeen. The generally attributes we are looking for include from the candidates are:

2) Team Leader Attributes

  • Good understanding of crisis management technique and practice
  • Experience of managing response to marine and onshore pollution incidents
  • Familiar with application of command and control systems
  • Good technical understanding of oil and chemical pollution control
  • Ability to understand and implement contingency plans
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and international conventions
  • Ability to liaise effectively with government and industry at all levels
  • Able to contribute to training / exercises / workshops

3) International Business Development

  • Good understanding of the range of services provided by BMT Cordah
  • Strong marketing skills
  • Willingness to undertake extensive overseas travel
  • Multilingual / willing to make effort to communicate with clients in their own language
