International Services

BMT Cordah has a long and successful track record of working in some of the most challenging oil-producing environments, focusing on:

• Environmental Social and Health Impact Assessment (ESHIA)
• Social Impact Assessment
• Environmental and Social Due Diligence

BMT Cordah's approach to international consultancy is clear. It builds the capacity of our local partners as the study progresses, providing our clients with a robust support base for future environmental and social management of projects.

In addition, BMT Cordah simply recognises that its local partners know and understand their own physical and social setting in great detail. BMT Cordah applies the international methodology, with local partners providing essential on-the-ground knowledge.

Over the years, it has built a successful network of local partners in many countries including Yemen, Kazakhstan, Russian Federation, Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Botswana, South Africa, Mauritius and Latvia.

Recent work includes:

• stakeholder consultation workshops with affected communities in the Niger Delta, Nigeria
• social impact assessment of onshore exploration activities in Kazakhstan
• work in Libya in connection with coastal fishing communities and exploration drilling operations

Most recently, BMT Cordah has initiated a study in the Republic of Yemen to create a set of permits and consents for the Petroleum Exploration and Production Authority (PEPA), Yemen's Oil & Gas regulator. This work will involve a series of visits to Sana'a to meet with PEPA representatives and discuss the way in which the future regulatory system should be structured.
