New Head for BMT’s Energy and Environment Division

BMT Ltd has appointed Dr. Owen Harrop to head its new Energy and Environment division. Owen is a trained environmental scientist and has published papers widely in the field of environmental pollution.
At the forefront of the new division, Owen will spearhead BMT's exploration into techniques and practices which will help the company and the industry face the challenges presented by the environment, and incorporate his findings into divisional strategy and policy.
On his appointment Owen says: "In a time when company policy on energy and the environment are being deeply scrutinised, I am excited by the challenge of this new role. BMT has always invested heavily in research into these issues and I intend to further this achievement."
Peter French, Chief Executive of BMT says: "Owen has considerable experience in this field and I feel that it is a natural progression for him to take on the management of this division. I have no doubt that Owen will provide BMT with exceptional leadership in this role and will prove instrumental to BMT’s future direction."
Owen Harrop joined BMT in 2001 and has worked as the Managing Director for subsidiary company, BMT Cordah, since 2003. Owen has a PhD in Stormwater Runoff and Water Quality from the Urban Pollution Research Centre at Middlesex Polytechnic and was a senior lecturer in Environmental Health and Science before moving into private enterprise.
